Melvin Galapon Light Installation for Becks Video Posted: 25 Oct 2010 01:15 PM PDT Melvin Galapon Light Installation for Becks VideoMust stop watching spinning thing… This light installation from Young Creative Network’s Melvin Galapon has been made by painting on to a glass ball as it revolves on a turntable. The vid doubles up as a competition too! The person to work out the track that inspired the installation gets a chance to win this one-of-a-kind piece of art. There is a Facebook page that gives clues apparently. Related posts: |
Wide Open Walls – Street Art Project in The Gambia 2010 Posted: 25 Oct 2010 01:21 AM PDT Wide Open Walls – Street Art Project in The Gambia 2010Wide Open Walls is a new street art project designed to put The Gambia on the map as a fascinating destination for art and cultural visitors. The concept is that eight artists of international reputation, led by renowned street artist, Eelus, will paint the village of Kubuneh, part of the existing Ballabu Conservation Project. Check out their Facebook page or the blog for the latest update! The artists will travel daily by boat from their camp at Mandina Lodge in the Makasutu Culture Forest to the village of Kubuneh. From there they will work to transform the village into a giant open air arts project as they paint large murals and smaller works in and around the village as well as holding arts based workshops with children from the village. The artists involved are Eelus (UK), Broken Crow (USA), Lucy McLauchlan (UK), Mysterious Al (UK), Logan Hicks (USA), Xenz (UK), Bushdwellers (Gambia) and Eine (UK). We’re looking forward to seeing how it unfolds, got a few photos of the artists in their home turf and a few bits from the Gambia too! Related posts: |
